WHAT IS TRIGGER POINT THERAPY?

Our focus at Range of Motion is to relieve myofascial pain (myo=muscle, fascia=connective tissue) using Trigger Point Therapy.

The goal of trigger point therapy (also called neuromuscular massage) is to relieve pain and increase range of motion.  "Trigger Points" are the continuously contracted areas in your muscle that cause deep, aching pain, restrict full range of motion and entrap (contract upon) nerves.  They are also known for referral pain.  Meaning?  The place that you feel the pain may not be the same place the muscle is contracted.

Trigger Point Therapy focuses on the hyper contracted muscles that are clamping down on your nerves, sending confused messages to your brain about the true origin of the pain.  You and your therapist will discuss exactly what you’re feeling and develop the treatment plan that will give the best results in the fewest sessions.
